The Rhapsody Team
The Rhapsody Piano Studio is owned and operated by husband and wife Warren Lee and Kate Lin. Since 2010, they have been teaching private lessons to students of all ages and levels.
They both met during their college years at California State University of Long Beach and graduated with Masters degrees in Piano Performance. During his college years Warren won the music department's instrumental concerto competition, which resulted in a performance of the Prokofiev Concerto No. 1 with the Bob Cole Conservatory at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center. He also had the privilege of performing the same concerto with the Torrance Symphony Orchestra.
While Kate went on to pursue an additional piano performance degree from USC, Warren focused on founding and building the Rhapsody Piano Studio. Kate is an active accompanist and performer, working with 2 Southern California choirs and serving as staff collaborative pianist at Irvine Valley College.
They both absolutely love to teach and bring an insane level of awesomeness and passion to every lesson.

Philosophy
The word "Rhapsody" as defined by Wikipedia:
A rhapsody in music is a one-movement work that is episodic yet integrated, free-flowing in structure, featuring a range of highly contrasted moods, colour and tonality. An air of spontaneous inspiration and a sense of improvisation make it freer in form than a set of variations.
This is our teaching style in a nutshell. It is important that every student feels free to expressive themselves creatively and learn according to their own pace. We find this approach works especially well with beginning students. A one-size-fits-all approach only blocks their imagination. In our studio we encourage each student's unique personality and style to shine through.
We don't focus on theory (we teach it as we go along) and instead concentrate on playing music as much as possible. Learning to play the piano is like learning how to ride a bike; you don't ride a bike through information, you learn through action and experience. Even if you're a complete beginner, you will play and read music as soon as the first lesson.
